It's hammer time! But more importantly its fancy dress time. The iconic 80s saw our greatest musical talents such as Michael Jackson take over our radios and is a great 80s theme to have if you having a fancy dress party or attending one. If you are in need of some inspiration why not check out these ideas?

When hosting a 80s fancy dress party there are so many iconic legends your guests can dress as including the likes of; Madonna, Freddy Mercury and Michael Jackson in the music industry, Tom Cruise in Top Gun, Kiefer Sutherland in Lost Boys and Ralph Macchio Karate Kid in the film industry. The actors and musical talents listed above stole our hearts and made us want to become a vampire, the Queen and king of pop and of course an aviation legend.

Michael Jackson "Thriller" was a phenomenon in the 80s and still has a masterpiece status today, so it's no wonder so many love to dress just like the star. To recreate the infamous look why not have a look at some Michael Jackson outfits or cut off a pair of black trousers and put on some white socks?

However, if you like a more vibrant look, why not pay tribute to Queen or Adam and the Ants? Adam and the Ants were one of the decades favourite flamboyant bands and is a great costume if you like to be the centre of attention at parties.

There are so many fancy dress costumes to think of when it comes to dressing as the Queen of Pop Madonna, so we have made it easy for you. Why not grab some ideas from her infamous videos like "Like a Virgin", "True Blue" and "Material Girl"?

Not only was the 80s a great time for music, it was also the time for one of the greatest film heroes Indiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford. Ghostbuster was also a great 80s film that is a fancy dress favourite, and rightly so; in a Ghostbuster costume you will be able to suck up all the ghouls and ghosts, save New York City and be famous around the world.
