Luna Bass - Art Meets Music

The Luna line of musical instruments were envisioned Yvonne de Viliers. Her idea was simple. She wanted to create guitars that were comfortable, affordable, artistic and unique! She said why can't an instrument be more ergonomic. Her mother played electric bass for over forty years and she knew from her mothers experiences that basses were big and heavy. She wanted to change that.

Yvonne was an artist that worked in the stained glass industry. She wanted Luna guitars and basses to be more than instruments. She thought they should also be considered works of art. She quickly learned that designing the fretboard of the bass and the guitar was exactly the same as her stained glass art. She could incorporate everything that she knew right into the neck and bodies of the guitars and basses. These designs are beautiful but she was not done. She also uses laser etching in a henna art style on the actual body of the instrument. This creates a beautiful design that is not seen on any other brand of instrument.

Yvonne thought it would be a great idea to encourage young musicians to create their own designs. They came up with the Imagine line of guitars. These come with a set of day glow markers that allow you to draw on the body of the guitar making it truly one of a kind.

You would think that with all of this attention drawn towards the artistic aspect of these instruments that something would be lost in the sound or playability department but that is not the case. Luna guitars and basses sound and play great and there is a whole slew of professional musicians that call Luna their home.
