Narrative Poetry

Image : http://www.flickr.com

I like to write poems. I arm myself with paper and pen in hand, and accept any challenge is to form a new gasket.

Last year I was first asked the question if I'm accepting the challenge and was buried on the battlefield. Of course, I am a perfectionist, but what would a man feel free to play with poetry for almost thirty years before charging? It was the kind of storytelling.

I'm not talking about the epic ballad, or - are the types ofnarrative poetry - rhyming or other stories. I refer to the more modern, free, poetry, fiction. It 'was as if everything I've ever done otherwise. For me it was more like a story of a poem. I also remember wondering how he was called off with the poem could.

Example, to read: (it is easy to find on Google, if you are not familiar with them)

Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden

The pile of wood by Robert Frost

I write stories and poems, but when Iwrite a poem - I am in the mode of poetry, and I was stuck in neutral. How could the poet-in-Me-mix of the two?

Stephen Minot, said that in three genres - The writing of poetry, prose and drama, "Narrative is so obviously a structure for the poetry, as is prose."

Poet-in-Me also streamlined the story-writer-in-Me borrows things from the "Toolbox Poet" to give a story more effectively, why not borrow a knock on his door and a couple of things?

Narrative Poetry basicsearly

BRIEF HISTORY

Narrative poetry is poetry that tells a story and can be traced back to Homer and possibly beyond.

The following conditions must

* Telling a story.

* Pay particular attention to rhythm and sound.

What's Choice COULD HAVES or the poet in all this?

* Choose if not the form or even a particular form (also known as a ballad, etc.)

* Pictures - the depth of images until the author - but keep in mind that a primaryThe poem is part of the symbolism, and write a poem that tells a story, not a story.

* Rhyme - use or not - internal, external or not.

As I tried to stories in my poems, I feel as if I were some of the best jobs I've ever written in my life. It is a door that I never knew was locked and opened more than a threshold in a country that had never been.

Simply, it helped me grow as a writer.

Writing exercise: If you are a writer who actuallyretains more of a poet, try writing poetry, fiction, as a way to build a bridge to history. If you are primarily a storyteller, uses the form of a story on the way to the seal easier.

Praise Poetry

Many students are required to write a literary essay on the appreciation of the poem. For the pleasant task we need to define poetry. What is poetry? Edmund Clarence Stedman said the following: "Poetry is rhythmical, imaginative language expression of the invention, taste, thought, passion and knowledge of the human soul."

Poetry is the creative imagination of a man. Like any other literary works, it must be estimated to understand. The author writes for aGround. Its aim is to arouse emotions, to inform, define, provide part of the world or life, speak ... In any case, it is a poem, only one of its writers. Every poem can be analyzed in order to be estimated. Here are some general ideas to help you understand the poem read:

Subject: Try to draw the subject of poetry. You need what is described here to see. Could be a place, event, person, situation or experience. What doesthe poet wants to focus, in poetry, or in any room?

Know: If you have identified the theme of the poem, and experience what is meant by the poet. Check out the following: the message of the poet, his purpose; ideas he expressed in the title and type of poetry (eg, sonnet, ballad, lyric, meditative monologue, elegy, narrative, descriptive, a combination of various types) . Always remember that feeling and tone to work hand in hand with theObject and subject.

Structure: The form of poetry is very important. By now you should know what kind of poetry has to do with, eg ballad, epic, ode, sonnet, dramatic monologue, elegy, etc. Discuss your knowledge of the structure of the poem in the essay

Rhythm: Watch the flow pattern of the poem from the line. Be they regular or irregular? If you are regular, the counter will remain the same, while the poem? (MTR: patterns of rhythmicBeats per line, and underlined the words in indicating the dull rhythm of poetry, rhythm, for example, fast or slow.) When it comes to analyzing the changes in the feet, where the changes are. Try to find the reason for the change. What impact does this change for the poem?

Rhyme: The poem has a number of rules? The poet wrote in free verse, blank verse, which uses two rhymes, rhyme cross rhyme or broken? He's only half rhyme, near rhyme, rhymes, middle or endRhyme? Is the poet to emphasize the message through the words and rhyme scheme? What is the purpose and effect of the rhyme scheme? Stop and punctuation have an impact on the structure, rhythm and rhyme of a poem.

Pictures: There are several ways to paint a picture in the mind of the reader through the use of words. Look at the figurative and sound devices used in poetry. The images are visual, auditory, kinesthetic, tactile, taste or smell?

Diction: The words that are used and the route can be proposed, have the power of creativity to improve the poet. Remember, inversion, hyperbole, understatement, irony, sarcasm, rhetorical questions, and can bring other techniques, the poetic sense of poetry. Speaking, if you write the essay, you only have pictures, video and audio devices, and diction, there is no need to explain why the poet has the technology, or if it is effective or not.

GeneralSnapshot: Share your opinion of poetry in general, and what impact it had on you. Did you like it or not? Remember the quotation marks when you use quoted from the poem.

How to read and appreciate more poetry to know that you will notice that the study of poetry educationally fulfilled. Once you begin to understand the poems, which will be enriched in many ways. Character best poems. Continue groped. The success is primarily the love of literature andthen it can be found in the understanding and interpretation of texts.
